The opening ceremony for the Phuket Gateway was held this morning (May 11) in Mai Khao, just north of the Thachachai Checkpoint. The ceremony was hosted by Phuket’s Governor Norraphat and Thalang District Chief Adul Choothong. Governor Norraphat says “The government has been paying attention to locals in the area saying they want to generate more local income for tourists passing through the checkpoint area.
