    PHOTOS: Newshawk Phuket Newshawk Phuket reported at 3.22pm today that emergency responders had been called to the Bang Pae Waterfall in Paklok to search for a 25 year old man from Pattani. He had gone swimming in the ponds at the base of the waterfalls, as many do, but vanished prompting the man’s friends to alert officials.

    PHUKET: The Thai Meteorological Department this afternoon issued a flash flood and strong wave warning for Phuket and the Andaman region. Issued at 4:30pm, the warning reported the „rather strong“ southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, causing torrential rain and isolated heavy rain along Thailand’s southwest coast, including Phuket and neighboring provinces. „People in risk areas should beware of severe weather and flash floods.

    Construction worker drowns in Phuket klong

    PHUKET: A construction worker trying to catch fish drowned in a fast-moving klong in Phukets Thalang District this afternoon. Thalang Police duty officer Lt Pramarn Yuppayak identified the deceased as 51-year-old Sawai Suksabai, a resident of Sawankhalok district, Sukhothai province. Police were notified of the drowning by the victims friend, Soonthorn Nopsawan.
