Police continue investigation into French diplomat’s plunge from BTS station
Police say the investigation into the death of a French diplomat, believed to have deliberately jumped off a BTS train platform at the Saphan Taksin station yesterday, will continue. 56 year old Arnaud Jean-Claude Dubus died from head injuries after plunging from a platform at the elevated BTS station in the Sathon district at about 4pm.

Omura’s whale sighted of Koh Similan in Phang Nga

Family alleging sex abuse of four of their children may be forced to move
PHOTOS: The Nation A family who who have made official reports alleging that four of their children were sexually abused by an ‘influential’ local man in Chumphon’s Lang Suan district, claim they are being harassed and may have to move. They claim that three female family members, aged 6, 10 and 14, and their 9 year old boy, were sexually assaulted by the owner of a rubber plantation who is identified only as ‘Surin’. Yesterday morning, 10 uniformed and plain-clothes officers visited the rape victims and their relatives who say they are frightened and under stress. Police sought details about alleged threats the family had received to investigate further and possibly file additional charges against the suspect. Senior officers have promised police protection for the family and said that the suspect would receive punishment if he was found guilty as charged

Phuket’s water supply in a critical situation
Phuket’s water lords are now admitting the island’s water situation is in a critical situation – a situation they have had the power to avert but have chosen instead to ‘hope’ for monsoonal rains and go in search of alternative water sources to top up the dwindling catchment resources. Phuket is now in the throws of a water shortage. The PWA says the water supply in Bang Ward Dam is only enough for the end of next month if no rain arrives.

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation reports that the head of Khao Phra Thaeo Non-Hunting Area, Pongchart Chueahom, yesterday released the slow loris to the Khao Phra Thaeo Non-Hunting Are in Thalang. The slow loris was found near a furniture factory in Thalang last week.
