Nearly 40 tourists escaped unscathed after a diving boat they were travelling in caught fire near an island in Krabi province late last night (Saturday). The boat passengers jumped into the sea when the fire started and waited for help.
A 10 million baht Porsche Panamera caught fire while its battery was recharging in Bangkok’s Taling Chan district early Friday and the flames also damaged the owner’s luxury home. Five people were killed and one injured when a minivan rammed into the rear of a running truck in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district on Wednesday. Earlier we reported on The Thaiger and Phuket Gazette that six had been killed. The van was reportedly carrying four Japanese and a Thai guide in addition to the driver.
More of the fire jellyfish have been found at the beach at Koh Hong between Krabi and Koh Yao Noi. The Chief of Than Bok Khorani National Park, Jampen Pompakdee, and his team collected the poisonous (nasty stings but unlikely to be fatal) fire jellyfish floating along the coast of the Hong Island beach. “The number of fire jellyfish found on the beach comes from the changing direction of the wind and the strong waves hitting Hong Island beach, which bring these jellyfish closer to shore and washes them up on the beaches,” he said

PHUKET: None of the 100 Burmese staff who reportedly resigned from SuperCheap after the fire at the megashop have reported their resignations to the Phuket Provincial Employment Office (PPEO). The workers are required by law to report their resignation by November 1, Yaowapa Pibulpol, chief of the PPEO, told the Phuket Gazette.
