  • Bangkok Airways Phuket Half-Marathon announced

    A press conference was held at Limelight Avenue hosted by the Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Teeraphol Thipjaroen, Phuket Vice Governor Prakob Wongmaneerung and Deputy Director of the Phuket Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Montri Manator. The media gathering was called to announce the Phuket Half-Marathon to be held on August 5.

  • Rain expected in many provinces in Thailand up to the weekend

    PHOTO: Colin Gallagher All regions in Thailand are expecting increased rainfall from now until the weekend while officials in many provinces are mopping up the damage left behind by recent storms. TMD has issued weather warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rain up to May 13 as a high-pressure trough from China extends across the upper part of Thailand while southeasterly winds continue to produce humidity over the South China Sea and in the Gulf of Thailand. The precipitation is expected to taper off on May 14-15

  • Two arrested with drugs and guns

    Over the past few days a team of Sakoo Police led by Lt Col Urampohn Kundetsamrit have arrested 17 year old ‘Oat’ and 18 year old Permsak Somsakfrom, both from Phuket. Oat was found with 80 millilitres of liquid kratom inside a pot, one bottle of ‘Datissin’ cough syrup, a can of Pepsi, 50grams of kratom leaf and 400 millilitres of liquid kratom inside a refrigerator in his house. He was taken to Sakoo Police Station to face charge with illegal possession of Category 5 drugs.

    Chalong Police were notified about the body of a foetus found in a canal in Soi Kuwattana, Chalong at about midday today (May 2). Chalong Police, along with the Forensic Police and rescue workers, went to the scene to investigate.

    PHUKET – BISP Scholarship Bake Off The IWA Phuket Team together with the Year 10 – 12 students of British International School Phuket hosted a bake off on Sunday at the Outrigger Laguna Beach Resort Phuket , all to raise money for the IWA a student lead initiative, funding girls in education. All the participating baking teams showcased their talent, the time and effort they put into set amazingly high standards, and the quality of all the baked goods was impressive and delicious. Live performances through out the bake off by the students of BISP also added to the wonderful community event.

  • Two mysterious objects found in Mai Khao

    Thachatchai Police received a report about an items that looked like ancient cannons at an old house in the Mai Khao area. The house, which belongs to a local man Dam Jitchamnan, was being demolished for renovation and the objects were found among the debris as workers were clearing it away. The police  found that the rusty items were about 1.5 meters long.

  • “Cars not parked in normal parking spaces”, Phuket Airport

    Phuket International Airport have commented on last weekend’s incident where two cars were scratched with a key or sharp object at the same spot in Phuket airport’s 5th floor parking. One of the owners also had a note warning that it was a VIP parking and that the spot wasn’t a normal parking area, left on his screen.
