The Sirinat National Park Chief Witoon Detpramuanphon says, “At about 7am this morning, local fishermen at Nai Yang Beach informed us that they have found a dolphin near the beach.” “At 11.30am national park officials reported it was a one metre striped dolphin that was found near the beach.” “The dolphin has wounds on its back and mouth. We helped the dolphin by using a wet towel to hold it in the sea water to balance its body temperature while waiting for veterinarian from the Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC) for further treatment.” The dolphin is now being checked and cared for at the Phuket Marine Biological Centre.

    by Prasert Thepsri His Majesty the King had his secretary, Air Chief Marshal Sathitpong Sukwimol, formally presented royally decorated shirts to be distributed among participants in the “Un Ai Rak: Bike for Love and Warmth” bicycle tour that the King will lead on December 9. The Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the governors of 76 provinces were given the shirts this morning at the Royal Household Bureau in Bangkok. Bicycle rallies will be held simultaneously around the country, with His Majesty leading the main 39-kilometre ride from the Royal Plaza in Bangkok to Lat Pho Park in Samut Prakan’s Phra Pradaeng district and back again.

    More than 4,000 people in Phuket have registered for the upcoming cycling activity ‘Bike Un Ai Rak’. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has graciously granted permission to the government to organise the “Love and Warmth at Winter’s End” festival at the Royal Plaza and Sanam Suea Pa in Bangkok from December 9-January 19, along with a cycling event which will take place on December 9 across the country. The cycling event aims at encouraging people to exercise regularly and promote unity among members of the public

    Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s tallest and most revered mountain in Chiang Mai, awoke this morning covered in frost as the mercury dipped to minus 1 Celsius degrees. Kritsayam Kongsatree, chief of the Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai’s Jom Thong district, says it was the first time this winter/cold season the temperature had fallen below freezing. He added that the cold has caused frost to form on the grass and leaves on the mountaintop, much to the delight of tourists visiting the area
