Mall Group shopping centres to charge customers 1 baht for a plastic bag
PHOTO: Mall Group The Mall Group , that runs some of Bangkok’s leading shopping centres, including Bluport in Hua Hin, will charge customers for plastic bags from July 3. The initiative is to mark International Plastic Bag Free Day which falls on July 3.

A reduction of 100 million+ plastic bags at 7-eleven stores in one month
More than 100 million plastic bags have not bee used at Thailand’s 7-eleven stores in the past month, valued at more than 20 million baht. CP All Public Company, the sole operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores in Thailand, announced its intention to reduce and, eventually, to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags at all their stores throughout the country.

Phuket anti-drug volunteer arrested in meth bust
PHUKET: A former volunteer member of the Phuket provincial drug suppression unit was among seven members of a gang of alleged drug dealers arrested in Chalong on Tuesday. Chalong Police rounded up the gang at a variety of locations in Chalong and Karon after a successful sting operation.
