25 year old electrical contractor electrocuted in Chalong, Phuket
FILE PHOTO A 25 year old electrical contractor has died after accidentally touching a high voltage power cabling in Chalong. Police say that the power was still connected when the man was working. Pakasit Raksakam was working on the cabling when he accidentally touched a cable that was still live, according to fellow contractors working nearby. Rescue workers arrived on Soi Na Yai off Chao Fah West road to find co-workers attempting to revive the man. He was working six metres above the ground when the incident happened some time shortly before 2pm on Saturday.

Motorbike driver files official complaint after accident from fallen cables in Kata
A motorbike driver has filed a report with police against a cable company after he became tangled up in their cabling while driving to work in Kata. 26 year old Chakaree Yawaekaree filled the report with Chalong Police against the local cable company. Mr Chakaree told Police that he was driving to work in Kata on Friday morning

Two female foreigners die in high speed road accident in Phuket
Two female foreigners, riding a powerful motorbike, have died at the scene of the crashafter colliding with a car in Chalong. Chalong Police were notified of the incident at 11.30pm on Chao Fa West Road near a local seafood restaurant.

Phuket police investigate the alleged sexual assault of a European female in Nai Harn
A female European tourist was found crying and distressed as she was running out from a Soi near Naiharn Beach early this morning. The woman was asking for help from shop owners and passers-by. She claimed that a Thai man had tried to have sex with her.

Machete attack in Chalong
A jealous husband has slashed his wife and step son with a machete, resulting in severe injuries for both. Chalong Police have revealed that on Friday night they received a report that there had been an attack on two people – 47 year old Yaowapa Kowai and her son, 22 year old Songpon Thongsai.

Tragedy strikes Phuket Games as athlete dies in motorbike accident
PHUKET: A young athlete from Bangkok, scheduled to return home after competing in the Phuket Games rowing competition, died in a tragic motorbike accident in Rawai this morning. Chalong Police confirmed the identity of the victim as Sutthipong Laguthamma, aged 18. The driver of the motorbike, 13-year-old Attapong NoiKhamsingha, was rushed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Phuket police swoop on two meth dealer suspects
PHUKET: Two suspected Phuket drug dealers have been busted by Chalong police. The young men were nabbed while in possession of methamphetamines during two different sting operations over the weekend. Police Lt Col Charan Bangprasert and Chalong police officers presented the two accused dealers to the media at Chalong Police Station on Saturday.
