German 78 year old drowns at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya
PHOTO: YouTube Emergency responders have been called to Jomtien beach in Pattaya’s south yesterday after a German tourist was reported in difficulty whilst swimming. There were many tourists on the beach at the time. Members of the local rescue foundation, Sawang Boriboon attempted CPR on 78 year old Klaus Heinz Trappiel but were unable to revive him.

An Imam has been shot dead in front of a Pattani mosque today. Police report that the shooting happened in front of Ban Tha Rab Mosque in Muang district and identified the victim as 45 year old Sama-ae Jehma.

Ex-soldier on the run after shooting girlfriend in Prachin Buri
A former Saraburi-based cavalry soldier, Corporal Panuwat Pancheun, who was reportedly fired from service three months ago for assaulting his superior, has allegedly shot and injured his 28 year old girlfriend at her family’s home/grocery shop in Prachin Buri province this morning as he tried to drag her out to his car. Prachin Buri is two hour’s drive north-east of Bangkok. Following the 9.30am shooting report at Tambon Pho Ngam in Prachantakham district, police inspected the scene and were told that the victim, factory worker Pornpan Putklang who sustained a gunshot wound in her upper right arm, had already been admitted to the district hospital, the case investigator, Pol Lt-Colonel Weerapol Sitthipan, said. CCTV footage accessed by the police showed the male suspect arrive at the shop front in a Honda Civic sedan, get out of the vehicle with a pistol in his hand and grab Pornpan by the hair and force her to get into the backseat of the car.

Murdered Bangkok woman found in Hua Hin
b y Wimon Thabkhong and Apichat Hongsakul The body of a 39 year old Bangkok woman, with multiple stab wounds in the neck, has been discovered stuffed in a large plastic box in the toilet of a rented house in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province today (Sunday). The woman, who doctors estimate has been dead for three days before the body was found, was later identified as Suchapat Hiranpanthachote.

Chiang Mai: 30 year old admits to raping 74 year old
Sanook is reporting that a 30 year old Thai man has told police he raped and robbed a 74 year old Chiang Mai woman because his wife was pregnant and he couldn’t have sex with her. He also claimed that he was drunk. The rapist, who already has priors and previous jail time for assault and robbery, had been in charge of a children’s fun slide at a travelling fair set up in a neighbouring village. 30 year old ‘Nim’ was quickly arrested after the incident last Sunday night in Nam Bor Luang sub-district of San Pa Tong
