The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has seized 4,600 baht in assets from the OA Transport Company after a court judgement over their operations in Phuket and other provinces.

Political parties urged to push for lifting of media gag
PHOTO: Thai Journalists Association The Thai Journalists Association (TJA) has issued a statement urging all political parties to join its campaign for the revocation of four executive orders issued by the NCPO that have imposed restrictions on press freedom and freedom of expression. Even though NCPO have already rescinded some of the executive orders to pave the way for political parties and politicians to engage in political activities, TJA said orders restricting press freedom are still in force. One of the four orders still in force forbids the media from broadcasting, printing or disseminating reports or information deemed a threat to national security and that would provoke unrest or conflicts.

“Prayut unfit to be the PM” – ex Cabinet colleague
The Thai PM and the recently formed pro-junta political party are on the defensive as the chains are off other parties criticising them in the lead up to next year’s election. A Government Spokesman, Buddhipong Punnakanta, has been wheeled out to speak to the media over the allegations made by a former Cabinet member citing the Junta chief’s indecisiveness, aggressiveness and lack of manners. The PM has been forced to react to comments made by his former Cabinet member, Pridiyathorn Devakula.

Suphan Buri Governor believes kidnapping probably the motive – missing two year old
by Wattanapol Matcha Suphan Buri Governor Nimit Wanchaithanawong has opened up with his personal reflections on the ongoing search saying that he suspected the two year old Burmese boy missing since last Monday was likely kidnapped. Suphan Buri is just north-west of Bangkok. The Governor say he believes the boy has been taken out of the area after a search mission involving 300 people through a 200 rai plantation over the weekend returned empty-handed. The missing boy, Sului Piew, was walking in Suwanwat Moo 9 village in tambon Sa Phang Lan of U-Thong district with his three year old sister eight days ago.

Defence volunteers robbed of their guns in Pattani
by Pares Lohasan Police a hunting for six males suspected to have seized guns and bullets from 10 village defence volunteers assigned to guard a local school in Pattani province’s Sai Buri district last night. The suspects made off with four shotguns and 20 bullets. Sai Buri police superintendent Pol Colonel Montri Khongwatmai led forensic police to inspect Ban Seu Dang School in Moo 4 of tambon Troh Bon on Monday morning

Bangkok blanketed by smog for at least another day
Bangkok and inner city suburbs continue to be covered in smog for the fifth straight day. The Pollution Control Department (PCD) reported that the amount of particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns (PM2.5) in 19 roadside areas exceeded the safety limit of 50 micrograms per cubic metre, while nine other places had levels that could negatively impact health.
