PHUKET: Brad Kenny, a pillar of the Phuket community, died from undisclosed causes at Mission Hospital today. Mr Kenny, 59, was the past president and current assistant district governor of the Rotary Club of Patong Beach (RCoPB), member of the Grumpy Old Men Society (GOMS), member of the Navy League of the United States and involved with numerous other charity and humanitarian projects in the region, including the Phang Nga Home and Life Foundation.
PHUKET: Provincial Police apprehended a couple on Wednesday in possession of nearly 143 kilograms of kratom in Kathu. The arrests of Jamjun Kosai, 36, and his wife Urai Siriwong, 28, followed a tip-off from a police source that the pair had been selling drugs to teenagers and laborers out of a rented house in the area, confirmed Pinit Sirichai, Phuket Provincial Police deputy commander.

PHUKET: Last year, as I was grinding out the kilometers from Bangkok to Phuket with Siam Bike Tours‘ eight-day group trip, I was inspired by the robust figure of Rudy Pospisil, a Canadian firefighter and cancer survivor who was also cycling this trip as a small part of his around-the-world epic ride to raise funds for cancer research. I started doing research into the scientific understanding on the ways in which cycling can play a role in the defence against various types of cancers, and the findings were startling to say the least.
