Phuket’s All Stars bowled over at ACG opener
PHUKET: The eagerly anticipated opening of the Alan Cooke Ground (ACG) was launched in thrilling style recently when the Phuket Cricket Group (PCG) „All Stars“ took on the oldest cricket club in Asia, Singapore CC, at Thailands newest cricket facility. Heavy downpours the night before meant the new synthetic surface was still damp, making batting a treacherous task. Singapore won the toss and wisely gave Phuket the honor of testing the crease first.

PHUKET: The Alan Cooke Ground (ACG) officially opens its gates this weekend with two exhibition matches against the Singapore Cricket Club who are traveling to Phuket specifically for this inaugural event. A selection of players from the Phuket Cricket Groups Island Furniture Leagues will join forces as the Phuket All Stars to face Singapore CC over two games on Saturday and Sunday. …

Coffins out for the new Phuket cricket season!
PHUKET: The cricketing fraternity on Phuket is preparing for the upcoming 2011/2012 Island Furniture League, and all fixtures will be played at the sports new dedicated facility the Alan Cooke Ground (ACG) in Thalang. Martin Foster, club affairs representative of the Phuket Cricket Group, which is responsible for organizing and running the league, is looking forward to seeing the teams compete at their new home. „The ground will have a lush cover of grass, so expect to see many more players diving around in the field.
