    The Royal Thai Police are looking to impose a total ban on water splashing activities on main and secondary roads throughout Thailand during from April 11-17, the Songkran holiday break. They are citing road safety as the reason for the drastic plans. In phuket, in the past, Chao Fah east and west, Viset Road in Rawai and parts of Thepkasattri Road north of Heroines Monument have been popular locations for families to splash motorists as they pass by on April 13 each year.

    Phuket police and a team of local authorities have arrested 27 year old Anchalee Pantumat, from Nakhon Sawan province, with a list of illegal items including 113 grams of marijuana, a carbine (rifle) with eleven .30 bullets along with jungle cat fur and a sambar deer skull. At her house in Rawai, Police also found marijuana and methamphetamine paraphernalia, 2 BB guns, digital scales, plastic bags for packing and 103,500 Baht in cash

    Last night (March 4) police received a report about a shooting in a house at the Rangsiri housing project, in Rassada, east of Phuket Town. Two people were shot; one died and another remains in critical condition. At the 2 story house, which doubles as a tattoo shop in the ground floor, police found blood and several .45 bullets on the ground near the gate, near the tattoo chair, and in front of a bedroom.

    About noon today (February 17), Patong police receieved a report about a fire in Spanakarn, a 4-story spa business, located inside the Ban Thai Hotel. The fire started in a room named Rachawadee on the third floor of the building. A staff member, Naetdao Kongsoongnern, who was a witness to the fire, told the police that she was at the second floor around noon and saw white smoke coming out from the third floor so she went to check
