Andaman Hub Medical Network launched in Phang Nga
An opening ceremony was held today (May 11) at the Andaman Hub Medical Network in Takua Pa, Phang Nga. The launch was hosted by Public Health Minister Doctor Piyasakol . Beach safety and marine accident rescue drills were being held.

BKK medical marijuana farm under consideration
“We will be in charge of growing and improving marijuana,” GPO chairman Dr Sopon Mekthon said yesterday. “We will also handle the analysis and synthesis of marijuana.” The Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) has announced it is taking a key role in Thailand’s plan to cultivate marijuana for medical purposes.

10 million meth pills, 398 kg of ‘ice’ seized in Bangkok. Six arrested.
Bangkok police have arrested six suspects and seized a large drug haul of 10 million made-in-Myanmar methamphetamine pills and 398 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or “ice”. A haul that size led the national police chief, Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda, to hold a press conference this morning (Friday) at the Royal Thai Police headquarters to announce the seizure

Phuket Gateway officially launched
The opening ceremony for the Phuket Gateway was held this morning (May 11) in Mai Khao, just north of the Thachachai Checkpoint. The ceremony was hosted by Phuket’s Governor Norraphat and Thalang District Chief Adul Choothong. Overheating smartphone on KLM jet forces authorities to re-examine the ‘batteries on planes’ issue
PHOTO: KLM A KLM Boeing 777 has now landed safely in KL following an 18 hour lay-over in Phuket after a ‘precautionary landing’ forced on the pilot after a smartphone over-heated, emitting smoke in the passenger cabin. It’s not the first incident involving over-heating lithium batteries (if that was the cause) and is sure to bring another close examination of the safety of battery-powered items being carried on planes. Further details about exactly what happened are still fairly scant but KLM have congratulated its cabin crew in handling what must have been a terrifying incident
