As reports are tallied for the fifth full day (April 15) of the ‘Seven Days of Danger’ road and marine safety campaign, there were a total of 4 road accidents, including 3 injuries and 1 death on the day. The dead woman was 20 year old Kunwaree Hemmin who has died at the scene after a motorbike accident in Pakhlok at 4 pm yesterday. She tried to overtake another vehicle at high speed when she collided with a minivan coming in the opposite direction, according to police.
The Palace is reporting that HRH Princess Chulabhorn is recovering satisfactorily at Ramathibodi Hospital after cataract surgery and treatment for back pain. The medical team at the hospital report that the Princess’s back pain had eased satisfactorily so that medication will now be taken orally, instead of intravenously, until April 30.

VIDEO: Baan Na Police A motorbike driver has survived after a truck trailer ran over him and his motorbike at traffic lights in Nakhon Nayok, just north-east of Bangkok, yesterday. Daily News reports that the motorbike driver had stopped at the traffic light, waling just in front of the truck. The truck driver apparently was unable to see the motorbike.

Two days to go and there is still no respite of the hazardous levels of smoke and smog besetting the northern capital and adjacent provinces. The PM met with nine provincial governors and authorities directly involved with the smog problem last Tuesday ordering the problem be solved in 7 days.
