    A sea turtle laid a clutch of eggs at Nai Thon Beach yesterday (August 19). The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) reported that a one metre green turtle laid eggs on Nai Thon Beach in front of Trisara Hotel

  • Lights, camera, action – Soi Dog

    Soi Dog Foundation has arranged a dog photo contest, ‘Snap for Stray’, which is open to both professional and amateur photographers with any kinds of digital camera –  DSLR to mobile phone. The contest aims to reflect the beautiful perspective of stray dogs through the lens by letting the contestants choose their model dog from Soi Dog Foundation. The dogs attending the photo shoot are all chosen by Soi Dog staff, which are friendly and loveable (a nice change when compared to most photographic models) The photos from the contest will be exhibited in September and will also be posted on social media in order to help the dogs find their forever home.

  • Resorts near Kaeng Krachan dam in Petchaburi temporarily closed

    PHOTOS: The Nation More than 30 resorts downstream of the Kaeng Krachan dam in Phetchaburi province, are being closed temporarily due to heavy flooding. Thai PBS reports that floodwater levels at the 30 plus resorts range from 1-3 metres making it impossible to carry on with their business.

Photos from Daily News show a red plate Ferrari that collided with the back of an 18 wheel truck on the Friendship Highway (Mitraphap) in the Si Khiw area of Nakhon Ratchasima. The accident also involved a Chevrolet car that ended up under the truck in the roadside ditch

After she resisted super glue was put in her eye and her phone stolen. An uncle of the girl is helping police with their inquiries. Police arrived at the house to find 46 year old  Nongyao Theppithak yesterday afternoon.

    Water to be shut off in Chalong tomorrow

    The Phuket Water Authority (PWA) has announced that water supply in some areas of Chalong will be shut off from 9am tomorrow (August 16) until repair works can be completed. Water will be shut off while work is being carried out on main pipes at the entrance of Soi Tanuthep on Chao Fa West Road in Chalong.  Areas to be affected include Tambol Chalong.

    More rain and flood warnings for the north and north-east

    The north-east regions have just been mopping up over the last week and now the TMD (Thai Meteorological Department) are warning that there’s more on the way. Residents in the North and North-east are bracing for more rain with isolated torrential downpours on Wednesday and Thursday (August 15-16) that could trigger flash floods in the region. TMD chief Wanchai Sakudomchai, in a weather warning issued this morning, says a tropical depression over China’s south coast with sustained winds of up to 50 kilometres per hour is on the way.

  • Police are hunting for a Phuket bank robber

    Phuket Police are now hunting for a suspect who has robbed a bank and got away with 26,900 baht cash in Thalang this morning (August 10). Thalang Police were notified of the incident at the Government Hosing Bank on Thepkrasattri Road, 300 metres north of the Heroines Monument in Thalang
