Six arrested in child-porn crackdown
Six suspects have been arrested in nationwide crackdowns on child pornography websites. Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hakpal says five suspects from three networks carrying online child pornography have been arrested under warrants and their accounts led to an arrest of another suspect. He said the suspects were arrested in Samut Prakan, Surat Thani and Ubon Ratchathani.

Volunteer training to get ready for school-term traffic snarls
“There are many schools and educational institutions in Phuket. Choking driver smashes into roadside shop in Chumpon
A driver who claims he was choking on a pill, lost control of his pickup truck which smashed a phad thai shop on a popular food street in Chumphon, severely injuring the food vendor. Police report that the accident happened at 6pm last night, a busy time on the so-called “food street” in the heart of the Lang Suan downtown district. The 64 year old phad thai vendor, Kanchana Thetpithak, was severely injured and was rushed to the Lang Suang hospital

Phuket-Norway co-operation to promote local use of Electrical Vehicles (EVs)
A meeting was held yesterday (May 7) at the Phuket Provincial Hall hosted by the Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong and the Thai Ambassador to Norway, Prasittiporn Wetprasit. Joining them were Phuket’s Vice Governor Thawornwat Kongkaew along with a representative from Oslo, Sture Portuik and a representative from private sector, Snorre Sletvold. Mr Prasittiporn says, ”The government are supporting Electric Vehicles (EVs) in order to reduce global warming. The most important factor for global warming is the use of gasoline in vehicles.
