PHUKET: A Phuket police officer and his brother are being detained at Phuket Provincial Court tonight after both were charged with accessory to murder over a fatal shooting in Phuket Town’s red-light district early yesterday morning. Phuket City Police Deputy Superintendent Jamroon Plaiduang told the Phuket Gazette that the shooting occurred at about 2:30am in Phuket Town’s infamous Phun Phol Soi 11. Pol Cpl Rachaporn Semaksorn, currently serving at Patong Police Station, and his brother Dechaporn arrived in the narrow street, pulling up on the opposite side of the alley where 21-year-old Ekkasit Sangangam was sitting on his parked motorbike.
PHUKET: The driver of an express mail service truck will be charged with negligent driving and property damage after his delivery truck crossed over a median strip and overturned on Phuket’s main road from Phuket Town to the airport on Tuesday afternoon. Thalang Police were notified of the accident, at the u-turn on Thepkrasattri Road near the Kan Keha public housing estate, about three kilometers north of Phuket’s famed Heroines Monument, at 3:30pm. Arriving at the scene with Phuket Kusoldharm Foundation workers they found a six-wheeled Hino truck overturned in the middle of the road, its front wheels partially ripped from the chassis.
PHUKET: A key witness in the investigation into the 48,000-baht robbery of a Phuket currency exchange kiosk on Saturday night today told police that their prime suspect was not the man who committed the robbery. Chalong Police had named Nathee Srisawang, 28, from Prachuap Khiri Khan, as their prime suspect.
PHUKET: Officers from the Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTD) of the Royal Thai Police and Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) on Friday night inspected go-go bars in Soi Sea Dragon, off Soi Bangla in Patong, but failed to uncover any evidence of lewd behavior. Twelve officers from the AHTD Region 5 and ISOC, commanded by AHTD Region 5 Deputy Inspector Pol Lt Anan Nitirangsan, raided seven go-go bars including Exotica and the Candy Club a-Go-Go at about 10pm. The raid was to target clubs showing “nude shows” and lewd acts such as “ping-pong shows” and to arrest any club operators allowing such activity.

PHUKET: A team of about 50 police and municipal officers this morning arrived in force at Phuket’s tourist-popular Karon Beach and removed a restaurant belonging to a local family who were forcibly removed from the same location nine weeks ago. Led by Phuket Governor Tri Augkaradacha, Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pekad Tantipong, Muang, Chalong Police Superintendent Col Krittapad Dej-intorrasorn, the officers arrived at 7am and started pulling down tents and removing tables and chairs.
