Two metre crocodile caught in Krabi
A two metre crocodile has been caught in a mangrove forest in Klongtom, Krabi whilst another crocodile was sighted last night. Officials from the Krabi Provincial Fisheries Office arrived at the area after being notified by locals that a crocodile has been caught

Whale watching season starts off Phetchaburi coast
The Bryde’s whale has returned to the waters off Phetchaburi and reporters and tourists boarded boats on Monday for the official opening of the official whale-watching season, with about 10 of the huge animals obliging them on the first day. Boonyod Maklai, mayor of Tambon Haad Chao Samran in Muang Phetchaburi, led the outing on Kor Kai Bay and off Laem Phak Bia Cave. Boonyod says the whales feed on plentiful plankton in Kor Kai Bay and also off the coasts of Samut Songkram, Samut Sakhon and Chachoengsao from October to December each year

71 foreigners, including 32 Thais, found safe in Sulawesi
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency in Indonesia has announced that 71 foreign tourists were affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Sulawesi last Friday evening. Authorities say they have found 66 of the foreigners and declared them safe and accounted for. Two of the rescued tourists, a Singaporean and a Belgian, have now been moved to Jakarta.

School director ambushed in Pattani
The director of a school in Pattani’s Panareh district escaped an ambush by four suspected insurgents this morning, police said. The director, Thawil Sae-ham, was driving to Ban Nam Bor School when he was attacked by four men on two motorcycles on the main road of Moo 3 village in Tambon Phor Ming. Thawil said both pillion riders fired AK-47 assault rifles at his car but the bullets missed him and the attackers sped off

Following the death of the Australian 25 year old, who shot himself at a Sakoo shooting range on Friday, police have concluded their initial investigation. The man died at Vachira Hospital on Friday night.
