Whale shark sighted off Koh Racha
A healthy looking whale shark was sighted off Koh Racha, south of Phuket, yesterday. Videos of the whale shark have been shared widely in social media with a message reading “a whale shark is near Koh Racha and swimming near a tour boat.” A tour guide of Nikorn Marine company, Mali Boondanpai, who recorded the video says, “the tour boat was carrying a South Korean tourist family with 6 adult sand 4 children heading to Koh Maithon and Koh Racha Yai yesterday morning.” “While we were between Koh Maithon and Koh Racha, about noon, we saw a big fish followed the tour boat. Thai tiger farms investigated for links to black market
Thailand’s tiger facilities have come under international scrutiny amid suggestions many there are many farms taking part in the illicit trading of the endangered species. The committee on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) now plans to appoint a non-governmental organisation to collect data on the population and conditions of captive-bred tigers in tiger farms across Thailand. 25 yo British woman claims she was raped on Koh Phangan but later recants
A 25 year old British woman has accepted that she was not raped on Koh Phangan as she had previously claimed. Hospital tests and CCTV indicated there was no evidence a crime had occurred. Sanook is reporting that the woman admits that her fears were completely unfounded.
